When you book Romiti, you have the run of the main house and its large professionally equipped kitchen with conventional and open fire cooking. The chapel, accessed through a salotto, houses a unique seating area and banqueting space with an upper mezzanine for relaxation. There are a range of sun terraces that offer spectacular views across the wooded slopes of the Apuan Alps. Positioned off one of the sun terraces is a large games room with ping pong table. The 10 metre salt water infinity pool has plenty of poolside seating for home days and in cooler months there are open fires and wood burning stoves and plenty of intimate spaces to gather in.

OUR AREA

I Romiti sits within extensive  grounds of mixed woodland which guests are welcome to explore. We sit on one of the many branches of the pilgrim route to Rome - the historic Francigena - and the gateway to the national park.  A short walk through the woods takes you to the historic village of Fabbriche di Vallico for shops and local restaurants. The Turrite river running along our southern boundary offers secluded wild swimming spots. Terraces have been designed for sun and shade lovers and there are ample outside eating spaces for large groups. There is a traditional outside stone pizza and bread oven.

THE CHAPEL

Dating from the 1200s the deconsecrated chapel, which is now an area for relaxing and dining, has been restored with respect for the simplicity of the building. The original beams were saved and the roof completely rebuilt in local chestnut. The remains of the 15th century stone floor were repaired and the Medieval font returned to its rightful place.  Glass doors and stained glass windows made by the current owners flood the interior with light. A mezzanine level provides a quiet meditative space perfect for yoga - yoga mats and blocks provided.

For events and celebrations, the chapel is equipped with exhibition lighting, a projector for large screenings and the fine natural acoustics can be exploited by pianists who can enjoy the U3 Yamaha piano.
